In the latest Snapshot release, players are introduced to an intriguing new addition: the camel husk. This undead passive mob thrives in the arid desert landscape, presenting a unique challenge as it is often accompanied by its hostile riders. The camel husk, which spawns alongside a desert-dwelling skeleton known as the parched, adds an exciting layer of complexity to gameplay.
Along with these new adversaries, the Snapshot also brings notable adjustments to the spear’s lunge enchantment, which has been made less demanding on players’ hunger levels. Furthermore, mounts such as horses, mules, donkeys, and camels can now float in water while ridden, a significant change from their previous tendency to sink.
New Features
- Updated advancements to incorporate the Camel Husk and the Parched.
- Introduced a new graphical option called “Anisotropic Filtering.”
Parched
- A new variant of skeleton that spawns in desert environments.
- Appears in low-light conditions, replacing some regular skeletons.
- Resistant to sunlight and shoots arrows of weakness.
- Features a slower firing rate compared to standard skeletons, akin to the Bogged variant.
- Does not spawn in caves, adhering to the spawning rules of the husk.
Camel Husk
- This new undead camel variant also spawns in desert areas under low-light conditions.
- Like the parched, it is unaffected by sunlight.
- Typically appears with two riders: a husk wielding a spear and a parched skeleton.
- It is passive when unmounted but becomes hostile if ridden by a hostile mob.
- When ridden by a player, it becomes persistent and shares similar mechanics with regular camels.
- Its favorite food is the rabbit foot, and it cannot be bred.

- A durability cost of 1 has been added for using Lunge at all enchantment levels.
Anisotropic Filtering
- This new option enhances the visual quality of blocks viewed from a distance or at an angle.
- The default setting varies based on the graphics preset, with options of “off,” “2x,” “4x,” and “8x.”
