Advancements in Gaming on Windows 11

Windows has consistently positioned itself as a versatile and open platform for gaming, fostering collaborations with developers, OEMs, and silicon providers to enhance user experiences across a variety of devices. This momentum has continued into 2025, as Windows 11 handhelds have evolved, Arm-based devices have seen notable gaming enhancements, and advancements in DirectX have contributed to faster and more immersive graphics.

Today marks another milestone for players everywhere. The Xbox app is now accessible on all Arm-based Windows 11 PCs, offering users the familiar experience they cherish—ready for download, play, and enjoyment.

Your library and benefits come with you. Players can now explore and enjoy an extensive array of titles from the Xbox PC app game catalog on Arm-based Windows 11 PCs. Currently, over 85% of the Game Pass catalog is compatible with these devices, and efforts are underway to broaden support even further. For games that are not yet supported for local play, Xbox Cloud Gaming provides a seamless alternative, allowing players to dive into their favorite titles while compatibility is being expanded.

Unlock more of what you love. Following the release of the Xbox app to Windows and Xbox Insiders, feedback from the gaming community has led to significant platform updates aimed at enhancing compatibility. The introduction of Prism, an emulator that facilitates the running of x86/x64 software on Arm, now includes support for AVX and AVX2, which broadens the compatibility for numerous modern games.

Additionally, support for Epic Anti-Cheat (EAC) has enabled popular titles on Arm-based Windows 11 PCs, including fan favorites like Gears of War: Reloaded and Fortnite. With the Windows Performance Fit feature, players can receive guidance on which titles are likely to perform well based on their device’s hardware capabilities, instilling confidence in their download choices.

In collaboration with Xbox and its partners, there is a commitment to continually bring more titles to Arm-based Windows 11 PCs over time.

And we’re building it together. The partnership between Windows and Xbox remains strong, as they work alongside the gaming community, OEMs, silicon innovators, and game studios to enhance catalog compatibility and ensure a consistently excellent gaming experience—whether on a high-performance desktop, a specialized handheld, or an Arm-based Windows 11 laptop. The ongoing focus is on improving compatibility, boosting performance, and delivering experiences that make gaming accessible and enjoyable.

Gratitude is extended for the collaborative journey. Each update and new title introduced to Arm-based Windows 11 PCs is influenced by player feedback.
