Hello Windows Insiders, today marks the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 28020.1743 to the Canary Channel (KB 5081339).
What’s new in Canary Build 28020.1743
Changes and Improvements gradually being rolled out with toggle on*
[Shared audio (preview) gets more control]
- The much-anticipated shared audio feature, first unveiled last fall, now allows two users to share audio seamlessly between their Bluetooth LE Audio headphones, speakers, earbuds, or hearing aids. This update introduces individual volume sliders for each listener, enabling personalized adjustments without affecting the other user. Users can still control the overall volume for both through Quick Settings or their device’s keyboard controls.
- A new taskbar indicator has been added to remind users that audio is currently being shared. A simple click on this indicator provides a quick route to access sharing settings, allowing for volume adjustments or stopping the sharing process altogether.
- The ecosystem for LE Audio accessories continues to expand. Excitingly, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro, Sony WF‑1000XM6, and Xbox Wireless Headset now support shared audio!
- Feedback: We encourage you to share your experiences in the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Devices and Drivers > Bluetooth – Audio quality, glitches, choppiness, and stuttering.
[Context Menu]
- In a subtle yet impactful change, right-clicking on a .exe, .bat, or .cmd file will now display the “Open” verb matching the icon associated with the file’s default application.
- Feedback: We welcome your thoughts in the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under File Folders and Online Storage > File Explorer.

[Feedback Hub]
The newly revamped Feedback Hub is now available as an app update for Insiders in both the Dev and Canary channels.
What’s new in Feedback Hub
- Simpler feedback submission flow: Feedback can now be submitted using a unified template, complete with a search function for categories. The form has been modernized to facilitate quicker iterations and future enhancements.
- Simpler navigation: The My Feedback section is now directly accessible in the navigation pane, while Community feedback (formerly All feedback) enhances the discovery and engagement with feedback from fellow users. The Announcements page has been removed to streamline the focus on feedback sharing, with announcements still available on the Windows Insider Blog.
- New compliment feedback type: A new option allows users to highlight what’s working well.
- Private or public feedback: Users can now choose the visibility of their feedback within the Insider community.
- New focused feedback experience: A compact Feedback Hub interface simplifies the process of providing quick, in-the-moment feedback. Users can expand to the full experience with a click in the upper right corner.
- Improved screenshot capture and review tooling: Enhanced tools make it easier to capture and include visuals when submitting feedback.
Feedback: Your insights are invaluable in shaping future developments, so we encourage you to explore the new experience and share your thoughts in the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Apps > Feedback Hub.
Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel
- Features in the Canary Channel are often rolled out using Control Feature Rollout technology, starting with a select group of Insiders and gradually expanding as feedback is monitored.
- The desktop watermark displayed in the lower right corner of the desktop is a standard feature for Windows Insider pre-release builds.
- Some features may debut in the Dev and Beta Channels before arriving in the Canary Channel.
- Features currently in active development may not be fully localized; localization will occur over time as features are finalized. Please report any localization issues via the Feedback Hub.
- To exit the Canary Channel, a clean installation of Windows 11 is necessary. Insiders cannot switch to a channel receiving builds with lower build numbers without performing a clean installation due to technical requirements.
- For a comprehensive overview of which build is in which Insider channel, please refer to Flight Hub.
Thank you,
