As the gaming community eagerly anticipates the arrival of Modern Warfare 4, Activision has unveiled the beta schedule, setting the stage for an exciting preview of the latest installment in the iconic franchise. While the full game is slated for release in late October, players will have the opportunity to dive into the multiplayer experience two months earlier.
Beta Weekend Details
In a familiar approach, Activision will host two distinct beta weekends to cater to both pre-order customers and the broader gaming audience:
- Weekend 1 (August 21-25): Exclusively for those who pre-order Modern Warfare 4 on PC, PS5, or Xbox. Notably, the Switch 2 will not be included in this initial beta phase.
- Weekend 2 (August 28 to September 1): An open public beta available on all platforms, including the Switch 2, allowing a wider player base to engage with the game.
This beta serves as a tantalizing appetizer for what players can expect in the full release. According to a recent blog post, participants will have the chance to unlock 19 different weapons and engage in a variety of combat scenarios, ranging from intimate 3v3 skirmishes to expansive tactical battles featuring tanks and other vehicles.
Players will also be able to test their skills across both new and returning game modes, including the classic Search & Destroy and the innovative Kill Block, alongside a Training Mobility Course designed to refine their gameplay techniques.
Having experienced Modern Warfare 4 firsthand in May, I can attest to its nostalgic charm. One memorable round featured a map that was a precise 1:1 recreation of Crash from the original 2007 Modern Warfare, evoking a sense of familiarity while introducing fresh gameplay elements.
As the beta approaches, excitement builds within the community, with players eager to explore the new features and enhancements that Modern Warfare 4 promises to deliver.
