Developer Arc System Works has rolled out a significant update for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, addressing many of the technical issues that plagued its launch on PC and PlayStation 5. The first weekend following the game’s release was challenging, as players quickly reported stuttering and performance problems, prompting even notable figures in the gaming community, such as Maximilian Dood, to uninstall the game during a livestream.
In response to the growing concerns and refund requests from players, Arc System Works initiated an investigation into the issues. Following a maintenance period, the latest update has brought a sense of relief to the community, with many players expressing satisfaction with the improvements.
Community Reactions
Feedback from players has been largely positive since the update. One Reddit user shared, “It fixed stuttering for me!” while another noted, “I had micro stutters, 58fps, and low GPU utilization. All fixed!” During the initial launch weekend, however, many PC users took to Steam to warn others about the game’s performance, leading to a wave of negative reviews that nearly pushed Marvel Tokon into the “Mostly Negative” category.
Despite the rocky start, the recent patch has successfully addressed several critical issues, including:
- Sudden performance drops
- Frame rate inconsistencies
- Reduced CPU usage
For those who experienced difficulties since the game’s release on August 6, downloading the update is highly recommended.
Nonetheless, some players still report lingering issues, such as the enforced PSN connection and the absence of Linux support. Others continue to encounter dropped frames, even if the overall experience has improved. Arc System Works has assured players that this update is part of their ongoing commitment to enhance performance and stability, hinting that further refinements are on the horizon.
Encouragingly, many players are urging those who left negative reviews to reconsider their ratings in light of the recent fixes. One enthusiastic player remarked, “It’s perfect for me now. Guys, update your reviews if you’re satisfied to let them know their efforts were worth it.” Another chimed in, expressing surprise at the speed of the update, stating, “I honestly wasn’t expecting a fix this soon… But I’m just glad we’re back after only like 90 hours of pain.”
Marvel Tokon is currently available on PC and PS5, and while there is still work to be done to ensure a seamless experience across all platforms, players can now enjoy the game with fewer interruptions.
