A Minecraft Movie Brings the Blocky Game to Live Action

With A Minecraft Movie, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures embark on a journey to bring the beloved game to life in its first live-action adaptation. Directed by Jared Hess, known for his work on Nacho Libre, the film boasts a talented ensemble cast that includes Emma Myers, Oscar nominee Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge.

The narrative centers around four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison, played by Momoa, alongside Henry, Natalie, and Dawn—who find themselves navigating the challenges of everyday life. Their world is turned upside down when they are transported into the Minecraft Overworld through a mysterious portal. In this imaginative realm, they must learn to survive and fend off threats from Piglins, Zombies, and other perils. With the guidance of Steve, the expert crafter portrayed by Black, they embark on a quest that will not only test their survival skills but also rekindle their creativity, essential for thriving in both Minecraft and reality.
