Investment Insights
Managing partner and founder Karl Magnus Troedsson shared insights into the funding sources, revealing that 54% of the raised capital originated from Europe, while 44% came from Asia. The remaining 2% was sourced from North America, illustrating a diverse interest in the European gaming landscape.
Troedsson emphasized that Behold Ventures is keen on investing not just in game studios, but also in technology, tools, and infrastructure that support the gaming ecosystem. The firm is particularly focused on companies that cater to a younger audience, recognizing the potential for innovation and growth in this demographic.
“Overall budgets are very much under pressure in our industry right now,” Troedsson noted. “People are questioning the smartness of balancing high-risk investments against single content development studios, even when led by experienced founders. However, younger developers often require less funding to achieve remarkable results. Many of them are quite frugal with their resources.”
