The long-awaited moment has arrived as Final Fantasy 14 unveils its latest update, featuring an exciting crossover with Monster Hunter Wilds. While players of Capcom’s cooperative adventure have already begun to explore their side of the collaboration, it is now the turn of FF14 enthusiasts to dive into the action. The Guardian Arkveld from Wilds makes a grand entrance into the MMO, presenting players with a formidable challenge. However, patch 7.35 brings a wealth of new content beyond this thrilling encounter, including fresh questlines, the Pilgrim’s Traverse deep dungeon, and much more.
New Adventures Await
For those who own the Dawntrail expansion and have reached Magic level 100 in Final Fantasy 14, the Windfall Wilds is now accessible. Arkveld, one of the most formidable creatures in Monster Hunter Wilds, takes on a new role as your adversary in an exhilarating eight-player activity. Players can choose between a standard difficulty level and an Extreme version of Windfall Wilds, available through the Raid Finder.
Completing this challenge offers enticing rewards, including a Veldian weapon coffer for each participant. Additionally, players can collect Guardian Scales from the defeated Arkveld, which can be exchanged at the smithy Tuliyollal for a variety of items and weapons. Alongside this intense battle against Guardian Arkveld, a separate quest themed around Monster Hunter Wilds, titled The White Wanderer, has also been introduced.
Exploring New Quests
In addition to the main event, several new quests have been added to enrich the gameplay experience. Three quests related to the Pilgrim’s Traverse dungeon have been introduced, with one particularly shrouded in mystery. This quest, simply labeled “???,” will only become available after players clear “the area marked by the final stone of Pilgrim’s Traverse.” The new roguelike-style deep dungeon itself features numbered stones guiding players through numerous areas, requiring a minimum level of 91 to enter. Each zone contains three treasure coffers, each offering different rewards, although players should be wary, as one of the coffers may be booby-trapped, resulting in damage if opened.
Moreover, the Hildibrand Adventures arc expands with two new quests, and allied society missions for the Yok Huy have been integrated into FF14. Players will embark on a main story mission, followed by up to three smaller tasks and side quests each day, unlocking the next chapter in the storyline.
This update introduces a plethora of new content for FF14, merely scratching the surface of the patch notes. Players can also look forward to new hairstyles, housing items, and various balance changes, all of which are now live with the FF14 update 7.35 and the collaboration with Monster Hunter Wilds.
The collaboration between these two iconic franchises is a testament to the creative synergy fostered by Square and Capcom developers, as hinted by Yoshi-P during Gamescom earlier this year. For those eager to experience the other side of this collaboration, FF14-themed content is also now available in Monster Hunter Wilds.
