Gamescom Asia is joining with the Thailand Game Show this year, and Dead Space creator Glen Schofield will keynote

Gamescom is set to expand its horizons in 2025, moving from its successful Asian debut in Singapore to the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand. This exciting transition comes in collaboration with the Thailand Game Show, promising a rich experience for both industry professionals and gaming enthusiasts alike.

Event Highlights

Scheduled to run from October 16 to 19 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, the event will feature a blend of business and consumer-focused areas. Attendees can expect to see major players in the gaming industry, including:

  • Bandai Namco
  • Capcom
  • Ubisoft
  • Xbox
  • Razer

Among the highlights will be a keynote presentation by Glen Schofield, the renowned creator of the Dead Space franchise. Schofield, who parted ways with Striking Distance Studios in 2023 following the launch of Callisto Protocol, will share insights into his creative process, discussing “10 ways he finds inspiration and comes up with ideas.” His extensive experience in developing some of the most acclaimed games in the industry adds a layer of intrigue to this session, especially given his recent challenges in securing funding for new projects.

In addition to major studios, the event will also showcase the talents of smaller developers, such as:

  • Toge Productions, known for the indie hit Coffee Talk
  • Super Evil Megacorp, creators of last year’s TMNT: Splintered Fate
  • HoYoverse, the studio behind the globally popular Genshin Impact

Engaging Activities for All

The public segment of Gamescom Asia will offer a plethora of activities, with tickets set to go on sale starting September 1. Attendees can look forward to:

  1. Live tournaments
  2. Meet-and-greet sessions with developers and voice actors
  3. The Thailand Game Award proceedings
  4. A competitive cosplay contest
  5. Continuous content, including live performances and gaming challenges

The event promises to be a dynamic celebration of gaming culture, featuring surprise appearances and a dedicated area for indie games, ensuring that there is something for everyone.
