Hands Over, a Horror Party Game, Announced for PC

In a captivating twist on nostalgia, Hands Over emerges as a new multiplayer horror party game that reimagines beloved childhood mini-games with a chilling edge. Currently under development for PC by Artdock, the game promises to deliver an exhilarating blend of fun and fear.

Game Mechanics and Player Dynamics

The creative team behind Hands Over describes the gameplay experience as a thrilling rollercoaster of emotions. Players may find themselves facing a mechanical jaw that tests their luck, or a device poised to snap at any moment, heightening the stakes of each turn. The simplicity of the rules allows for immediate understanding, yet the true challenge lies in maintaining composure while others watch, eagerly anticipating your next move.

Between rounds, players can wield influence cards to manipulate the game dynamics. These cards offer opportunities to:

  • Change the odds in their favor
  • Disrupt opponents’ strategies
  • Shield themselves from impending doom
  • Set traps that could turn the tide of the game

What may initially appear to be a safe choice can quickly spiral into chaos, leaving players to ponder whether they are playing cautiously, bluffing, or inadvertently stepping into a trap laid by their rivals.

Game designer Grigory shared insights into the creative vision behind Hands Over: “The concept began with the idea of transforming something innocuous into a source of discomfort. We aimed for players to initially recognize the games, share a laugh, and then feel a genuine sense of fear as they prepare to take their turn. While the mechanics are straightforward, the tension between players is what truly amplifies the danger of each round.”

For those intrigued by this unique blend of nostalgia and horror, Hands Over is available for wishlisting on Steam, inviting players to prepare for a gaming experience that promises to be both thrilling and terrifying.
