Everwind has officially announced its early access launch date, set for 17 March on PC via Steam. This survival RPG is poised to capture the attention of gamers, particularly those who find joy in titles like Minecraft, The Legend of Zelda, and Skyrim, as it artfully blends elements from each of these beloved franchises.
Players will embark on their adventure from a first-person perspective, either solo or with friends, piloting a flying ship that serves as both a base and a hub for exploration. The journey takes players across a variety of islands, where crafting, looting, and combat await. The visual style of Everwind immediately evokes comparisons to Minecraft, thanks to its voxel-based world, while the RPG elements and immersive setting draw inspiration from the likes of Zelda and Skyrim.
Developed by Enjoy Studio S.A. and published by Bohemia Interactive, Everwind promises an engaging combat system that allows players to wield a sword, bow, and magical staff, each capable of delivering powerful attacks. Mastering alchemy will enable players to unlock new spells to confront a range of foes, including hostile animals and formidable creatures lurking in the game’s dungeons. The world itself is procedurally generated, ensuring a wealth of activities and exploration opportunities, complemented by a fully destructible environment reminiscent of the recently released Pokémon Pokopia. Additionally, character customization adds a personal touch to the gaming experience.
We’ve Been Hands-On With Everwind
During last year’s Gamescom, GAMINGbible’s Sam Cawley had the chance to experience Everwind firsthand and shared his impressions. “My first thoughts are overall pretty positive. I do like a game that just throws you in and leaves you to your own devices, and once I completed the short tutorial, that’s pretty much what happened,” he remarked.
Cawley highlighted the ship as a standout feature, expressing curiosity about its potential beyond mere expansion and decoration. “I need to see a bit more of the game in order to have a firmer judgement, as the majority of my demo was spent on ground level preparing my ship for take-off, and I didn’t get a chance to explore anything higher than the first tier of floating islands. But from what I experienced, I’m definitely interested in seeing more.”
As anticipation builds, players can look forward to diving deeper into the world of Everwind when the early access period commences on 17 March.
