Minecraft Releases Moana 2 DLC

Moana 2 is set to grace theaters later this month, but for the enthusiastic community of Minecraft fans, the festivities can commence a bit earlier. The game has unveiled new downloadable content (DLC) inspired by both the beloved original film and its much-anticipated sequel. Players will encounter some of the most iconic characters from the franchise and revisit cherished locations such as Te Fiti and Lalotai. Additionally, players can personalize their own canoe, enabling them to navigate the enchanting world of Moana. This DLC is currently available across various gaming platforms for 1,510 MineCoins.

The trailer reveals that familiar adversaries from the original Moana film will return in the DLC. The Kakamora, known as the “murderous little pirates,” are set to make an appearance, with their floating vessel featured prominently. Players will have the opportunity to board their ship and engage in battle. Additionally, the formidable Tamatoa will also be present, posing a significant challenge. In the trailer, players can be seen confronting the giant crab, with Maui appearing in his hawk form to assist in the fight. This DLC has been developed by Starfish Studios, the creative team behind other notable Minecraft projects, including Dragon Pets.

Disney and Mojang have previously collaborated on various Minecraft projects, including content inspired by the Star Wars franchise. Given the original film’s immense popularity, it is not surprising to see Moana content emerging. While some Minecraft enthusiasts have expressed surprise at the DLC’s release ahead of the film, which is scheduled for November 27th, it appears that Disney aims to generate excitement and awareness for the sequel.

Moana 2 is one of two major films Disney plans to unveil before the close of 2024, the other being Mufasa: The Lion King. Earlier this year, Minecraft introduced content based on the animated version of The Lion King as part of the Disney Worlds of Adventure DLC. However, there has yet to be any content related to the live-action adaptations. As the release date for the live-action film approaches on December 20th, there may be potential for new content, but for now, Disney fans can explore the existing packs available in the game.
