Rainmaker Productions and Sola Entertainment have unveiled an exciting development in the realm of digital gaming. Last Wednesday, the two companies announced the upcoming release of Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins, a game inspired by the popular Ninja Kamui anime. This highly anticipated title will be available for PC users on Steam starting Thursday, following its earlier launch on PlayStation 4 on November 14 and its debut on Nintendo Switch on May 30.
Game Overview
Developed by G.rev, known for titles such as Senko no Ronde and Yurukill: The Calumniation Games, Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins invites players to immerse themselves in a fast-paced adventure. In this game, players assume the role of Tsukumo, racing against time to combat waves of henchmen and formidable ninjas. The narrative unfolds as Tsukumo uncovers a nefarious plot orchestrated by AUZA, who seeks to eliminate his former ninja allies. Equipped with a sword and the innovative “TYPE 0” boost gear, Tsukumo must confront a variety of brutal ninja assassins, many of whom are familiar faces from the NINJA KAMUI anime.
The anime itself made its debut on Adult Swim on February 10, featuring both English dubbed and Japanese audio with English subtitles during the Toonami programming block. Following its television premiere, the series became available for streaming on Max the next day.
Directed by the talented Sunghoo Park, known for his work on Jujutsu Kaisen and The God of High School, the anime showcases character designs by Takeshi Okazaki, celebrated for his contributions to Afro Samurai, Star Wars: Visions, and Batman Ninja. This collaboration between Park’s new studio, E&H production, and Sola Entertainment, which has worked on projects like The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim and Blade Runner: Black Lotus, promises to deliver an engaging experience for fans of both the anime and the gaming community.
