In a remarkable achievement for the gaming industry, the tactical first-person shooter Ready or Not has surpassed the impressive milestone of nine million copies sold. This announcement comes from developer Void Interactive, which reports that the title is rapidly approaching ten million sales on the popular gaming platform, Steam.
From Early Access to Console Expansion
Originally launched in 2021 as an Early Access title, Ready or Not reached its full 1.0 release in December 2023, marking a significant evolution in its development journey. All sales to date have been exclusively on Steam, but the game is set to expand its reach. Plans are underway for its debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as the Epic Games Store, in the near future.
Julio Rodriguez, CEO of Void Interactive, expressed enthusiasm about this new chapter for the game: “Our flagship tactical shooter Ready or Not is hitting a huge new milestone: We’re officially coming to PlayStation and Xbox this summer.” He further noted, “As we approach ten million units sold on Steam, we’re beyond excited to bring the experience to console players worldwide.”
Growth and Future Endeavors
In addition to the success of Ready or Not, Rodriguez shared insights into the company’s growth trajectory. Since its inception in 2017 with a modest team of three or four, Void Interactive has expanded to over 70 employees, reflecting a significant increase in workforce and ambition. By 2024, the team had grown to 30, showcasing the company’s commitment to developing engaging gaming experiences.
Rodriguez also hinted at future projects, stating that the company is currently working on “a couple of unannounced titles,” indicating that fans can expect more innovative offerings from Void Interactive in the coming years.
