Microsoft continues to strengthen its Xbox gaming ecosystem, announcing a new partnership with Ubisoft that significantly enhances the variety of games available for purchase through the Xbox app. This collaboration not only broadens the gaming selection but also introduces a valuable incentive for gamers who own both Xbox consoles and Windows PCs.
Expanded Game Offerings
As part of this initiative, a substantial array of Ubisoft’s most popular titles, particularly those featuring premium editions or additional content, are now accessible via the Xbox app on PC. Notable mentions include Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Additionally, iconic franchises such as Watch Dogs and Far Cry will also be joining the platform, enriching the gaming experience for users.
Console-to-PC Game Redemption
In a further development, Microsoft and Ubisoft have unveiled a new game redemption offer that allows players to transition their gaming experience seamlessly between console and PC. Gamers who own select Ubisoft titles on Xbox consoles can now access these games on the Ubisoft Connect app for PC at no additional cost. The titles included in this promotion are:
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
- Far Cry 6
- Immortals Fenyx Rising
- Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
- Riders Republic
- Skull and Bones
- The Crew 2
- The Crew Motorfest
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
- Watch Dogs Legion
According to Microsoft, “From today, customers that purchase a digital version of the listed titles will immediately get the Xbox console and Xbox on PC digital versions.” Furthermore, existing owners of the Xbox digital versions of these games will receive access to the PC versions during a gradual rollout that will continue until August 4.
However, it is important to note that this offer does not extend in reverse; players cannot claim a console version of a game they own on PC. Additionally, while most downloadable content (DLC) and premium editions will be included in the redemption, in-game currency and one-time-use content will not transfer.
For those eager to dive into their Xbox console games on PC, it is advisable to update the Ubisoft Connect client to the latest version to take full advantage of this new feature.
