Asda making ‘big improvements’ to website and app

The supermarket giant is embarking on a significant transformation of its digital platforms, with enhancements to its website and app set to unfold over the next few months. These updates are designed to streamline the shopping experience for customers, and the initial phase of changes is already accessible to users.

The “big” changes being made to Asda’s website and app

Asda is poised to implement four major updates to its online shopping platforms. Among the first of these enhancements is a new delivery tracking map, allowing customers to monitor their orders right up to their doorstep.

In a notable shift, Asda has revised its payment policy. Previously, customers were charged for their entire order upon delivery, necessitating a refund request for any unwanted items. Now, the supermarket will only process payments for the products actually received, eliminating the hassle of refunds.

Additional improvements on the horizon include:

  • Faster and more relevant search results
  • Removal of sponsored products from the “Your Favourites” section

An Asda spokesperson expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming changes, stating, “Our online shopping app is having a facelift, and we can’t wait for customers to see the changes that are being made. As part of the updates, we’ve revamped our refund process, allowing customers to be charged only for their delivered items, which means no waiting for refunds if substitutions are declined.” They also highlighted the new delivery tracking system, which enhances transparency by enabling customers to follow their driver’s journey directly to their home.

While these updates promise to enhance user experience, Asda has cautioned customers to anticipate some “teething issues” during the transition period. Further improvements are expected as the new website and app become fully operational.
