Reports of Slack outages began surfacing on Downdetector around 7 a.m. PT, with a noticeable increase in user complaints throughout the morning. Downdetector, which is owned by Ziff Davis, the same parent company as CNET, has been tracking these disruptions closely. Slack’s own status page acknowledged the situation at 7:27 a.m. PT, confirming that some users were experiencing challenges with loading and utilizing the app.
Impact on Users
The connectivity issues appear to be affecting various functionalities, including messaging, logins, workflows, and integrations with other applications and APIs. In personal testing, the browser version of Slack failed to load, while both the desktop and mobile applications functioned without a hitch. However, Downdetector reported that approximately 60% of users were facing problems with the app, compared to only 17% encountering issues on the website, suggesting a varied experience among users.
The most recent update from Slack, shared at 11:05 a.m. PT, stated, “We’re still looking into the cause of the issue and working on restoring functionality to affected features such as workflows, sending messages, threads, and API-related features.
