In a significant shift from its longstanding approach, Google is ushering in a new era of Search, marking the most substantial transformation in 25 years. Search agents work 24/7 in the background

Among the most notable advancements is the introduction of Search agents that operate continuously in the background. These intelligent assistants are designed to sift through live information, ensuring that users receive timely and relevant updates tailored to their needs. For instance, if a user expresses interest in a specific type of apartment or wishes to be alerted about a new sneaker release, the agent will diligently monitor the web and provide synthesized updates.

Additionally, these agents facilitate bookings for local experiences and services. If you’re looking for a private karaoke room for six on a Friday night, the Search will combine pricing and availability information, offering direct links to make the booking process seamless.

While the information agents are set to launch this summer, they will initially be available exclusively to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. It’s essential for users to maintain their subscription status to access these continuous monitoring tools, although the booking features will be accessible to all U.S. users this summer.

Google is also enhancing the search experience with its Antigravity technology and the agentic coding capabilities of Gemini 3.5 Flash. The search bar will now generate custom user interface elements, including interactive visuals, tables, graphs, and simulations, which will aid users in visualizing complex topics ranging from astrophysics to intricate mechanical systems. This generative UI will be available for free to all Search users this summer, with Antigravity-powered custom trackers initially rolling out to U.S. Pro and Ultra subscribers in the coming months.

In a bid to expand its reach, Google is introducing Personal Intelligence across 98 languages in nearly 200 countries without requiring a subscription. Users can securely link applications such as Gmail, Google Photos, and, eventually, Google Calendar, enabling the AI to understand personal context while ensuring users maintain complete control over their data connections.
