TSplus Releases Remote Support Android V4: Smarter, Broader, and Now Compatible with Android TV

TSplus has unveiled the latest iteration of its Remote Support app for Android, now in version 4. This significant update signifies a pivotal moment in the app’s ongoing development, enhancing compatibility, performance, and usability. A noteworthy feature of this release is the introduction of full support for Android TVs, which paves the way for innovative applications in both domestic and professional settings.

Constant Improvements Make Remote Support for Android a Versatile Product

Since the beginning of the year, TSplus has been dedicated to refining its Remote Support Android application. Each update has contributed to a marked enhancement in performance and usability. With the arrival of Version 4, a substantial milestone has been achieved: the app now fully supports Android TVs.

This latest version broadens device compatibility to encompass both arm32 and x86 architectures, adding over 2,300 new models and bringing the total number of supported Android devices to an impressive 22,720, as reported by the Google Play Store. These architectures are prevalent in Android TV devices, known for their cost-effectiveness and widespread adoption in commercial hardware.

In France, for example, the Freebox Player Pop—a widely used Triple Play Android TV box—now seamlessly integrates with the Remote Support app. This advancement is a crucial step in TSplus’ mission to make remote assistance universally accessible, extending its reach into living rooms and public-facing digital signage.

Remote Support for Android: A Game-Changer for IT Maintenance and Remote Assistance

The new compatibility with Android TV opens up a realm of powerful use cases for Remote Support for Android V4:

  • Home or Office: Utilize Viewer mode to assist others or cast presentations from a PC to a TV when HDMI connections are unavailable.
  • Retail & Fast Food: Troubleshoot self-service ordering kiosks at establishments such as McDonald’s.
  • Public Transport: Remotely access ticket machines or schedule display boards in train, tram, and bus stations.
  • Airports: Provide support for digital signage and interactive displays.
  • Cinema & Events: Maintain or configure ticket ordering stations.
  • And more!

The Sharer mode enables users to securely share their screens and receive assistance from remote technicians, even on devices lacking touchscreens. Meanwhile, the Viewer mode allows support agents to control Android sessions directly, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience on devices not typically designed for remote control.

This update also features improved navigation for Android TV, optimized network usage, and support for D-PAD and global action commands, delivering meaningful enhancements for both technicians and users.

TSplus encourages users to download the latest version of Remote Support Android directly from the Google Play Store. For IT professionals and helpdesk teams, this update heralds a new era of efficient and secure remote support, wherever Android devices are in use.
