Enhanced Features for Seamless Filmmaking

The new update empowers users to remotely monitor and control multiple smartphones and tablets simultaneously, streamlining the filmmaking process. Users can configure any compatible device as a controller, enabling them to adjust settings on all Blackmagic cameras connected via Wi-Fi. This feature allows for simultaneous viewing of various shots on a single screen, as well as the ability to start or stop recording across all devices at once.

Additionally, the app now supports high-frame-rate recording at 120 and 240 fps for Sony Xperia devices, along with compatibility for Tilta Nucleus USB devices, which facilitate lens control. The Blackmagic Camera app is available for free on Google Play, making it accessible to a wide audience.

Designed to unlock the full potential of Android devices, Blackmagic Camera offers an intuitive operating system that provides extensive controls for digital motion picture cameras, enabling users to achieve the cinematic quality reminiscent of Hollywood productions. The interface mirrors that of Blackmagic Design’s acclaimed professional models, ensuring a familiar experience for seasoned filmmakers.

  • Intuitive Controls: Users can easily adjust parameters such as frame rate, shutter angle, white balance, and ISO sensitivity with a simple tap on the screen.
  • High-Resolution Recording: The app allows recording of files at a maximum resolution of 8K directly onto the Blackmagic Cloud platform, facilitating collaboration with editors worldwide on DaVinci Resolve projects.
  • Quick Setup: Blackmagic Camera is designed for rapid preparation, enabling users to start recording almost instantly.

The interactive interface ensures that users can modify settings swiftly without navigating through complex menus. It also displays essential information such as drive and recording status, histogram, focus indicators, audio levels, and framing guides directly over the image.
