The company has announced that support for this education-centric platform will conclude by the end of 2026. When Windows 11 SE was introduced in 2021, it was positioned as an ideal, “purpose-built” solution for younger learners. By the following year, Microsoft was heralding it as the dawn of a new “era of the PC,” emphasizing a setup that was designed to be simple, secure, and budget-friendly for school districts facing financial constraints. The platform aimed to address the limitations of the previous Windows 10 “S Mode” by delivering a more streamlined, “web-first” experience.
