Windows 10 KB5060533 cumulative update released with 7 changes, fixes

Microsoft has rolled out the KB5060533 cumulative update for both Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 10 21H2, introducing a series of enhancements and fixes that aim to improve user experience. Among the notable changes is the reintroduction of seconds to the time display in the Calendar flyout, a feature that many users had missed.

This update is mandatory, as it encompasses essential security patches from Microsoft’s June 2025 Patch Tuesday, addressing seven zero-day vulnerabilities that could potentially compromise system security. Users can initiate the installation process by navigating to Settings, selecting Windows Update, and clicking on ‘Check for Updates’. Given its mandatory nature, the update will automatically commence installation once the check is performed. For those looking to manage the timing of their updates, there is an option to schedule a restart for completion of the installation.

Upon successful installation, Windows 10 22H2 will be upgraded to build 19045.5965, while Windows 10 21H2 will transition to build 19044.5965. Additionally, users have the option to manually download the KB5060533 update directly from the Microsoft Update Catalog if they prefer.

What’s new in Windows 10 KB5060533

The KB5060533 update brings a variety of changes and fixes to Windows 10, enhancing the overall functionality of the operating system. Below is a summary of the key updates included:

  • Restores the clock view that displays seconds on the calendar, a feature that had been previously removed. This rollout will occur gradually, meaning not all users will receive the update simultaneously.
  • Enhances the Rich Calendar feature by extending the upcoming events display period to 30 days.
  • Adds descriptive text for the Weather button within the Rich Calendar feature.
  • [GDI/GDI+]
    • Fixed an issue where some GB18030-2022 characters in plane 2 were not rendered correctly.
    • Addressed a problem where certain GB18030 characters were rendered wider than intended, along with incorrect rendering of sample paragraphs.
  • [Mobile Operator Profiles]
  • [WinSaS]
    • Resolved an issue affecting the Windows Account Sync Consent system in European Economic Area markets, where secondary accounts were not recognized, resulting in increased server load.

This update also addresses a known issue that caused some Hyper-V virtual machines running Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server to freeze or restart unexpectedly. Microsoft had previously tackled this bug with the release of an out-of-band KB5061979 update on May 27th.

Currently, the only known issue reported is that NOTO fonts may appear blurry or unclear when displayed at 96 DPI. Microsoft notes, “There are reports of blurry or unclear CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) text when displayed at 96 DPI (100% scaling) in Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.” As a temporary workaround, users can adjust their display scaling to 125% or 150% to enhance text clarity.

For a comprehensive list of fixes and enhancements, users can refer to the KB5060533 support bulletin as well as last month’s KB5058481 preview update bulletin.
