According to Hagenah, AIXHost.exe lacks essential security measures such as Protected Process Light (PPL) and AppContainer, allowing any process running under the logged-in user to inject code into it. This means that once a user authenticates via Windows Hello, sensitive data, including decrypted screenshots and metadata, can be extracted without requiring administrative privileges or complex exploits.

In a statement, David Weston, corporate vice president of Microsoft Security, asserted that the access patterns identified by Hagenah align with the intended security protocols.
