Halo: Campaign Evolved & Gears of War: E-Day Beta Game Ready Driver Released

Unveiling the Origins of Gears of War

Set fourteen years prior to the events of the original Gears of War, players will step into the shoes of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago in a gripping origin-story campaign. This narrative unfolds as the Locust Horde emerges from the depths, igniting a fierce struggle for survival. Players can rally their squads and engage in multiplayer modes, featuring a reimagined version of the beloved PvE mode, Horde Siege, alongside a refined Versus PvP experience.

Developed from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5 and DirectX 12, Gears of War: E-Day promises to deliver an unprecedented level of graphical fidelity. The game harnesses the power of MegaLights, which allows for the performant rendering of ray-traced shadows from up to 100 light sources. Additionally, Lumen technology facilitates ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion shading, enhancing the visual experience to new heights.

To elevate player immersion, E-Day employs Nanite, which significantly boosts object detail and fidelity—up to 100 times greater than its predecessor, Gears 5. The integration of other advanced engine features enables real-time destruction, extensive volumetric effects, and larger, more explosive set pieces. Collectively, these innovations position Gears of War: E-Day as the most technically ambitious and visceral entry in the franchise to date.

As anticipation builds for the game’s release on October 6th, pre-order customers and PC Game Pass subscribers will gain Early Access to the Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer Open Beta, commencing on August 6th. This beta will showcase cutting-edge features such as DLSS Super Resolution and NVIDIA Reflex, ensuring optimal image quality and frame rates during the preview. Furthermore, GeForce RTX gamers will benefit from the complete suite of DLSS 4.5 technologies in the full game, further enhancing performance and gameplay fluidity.
