The Find Hub app on Android has long been a reliable companion for users seeking to locate lost devices, leveraging the power of trackers and other Android gadgets linked to their Google accounts. However, the app’s utility was often overshadowed by the clutter created by numerous Bluetooth headphones and earbuds that lingered in the interface. Fortunately, Google has introduced a welcome update, allowing users to remove these audio devices from the Find Hub app, enhancing its functionality.
As previously noted in 2024, the ability to remove devices from the Find Hub app was already available for smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets, which would automatically disappear upon factory resets. Additionally, Find Hub trackers, such as Moto Tag and Pebblebee, could be easily removed through their respective settings. Yet, Bluetooth headphones and earbuds remained stubbornly present, cluttering the app without a straightforward removal option.
Recent updates to the Find Hub app have addressed this issue, introducing a feature that enables users to remove Bluetooth audio devices with ease. The location of this new option may vary slightly depending on the device. For example, users of Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones will find a settings icon at the bottom of the screen, featuring a “Remove from Find Hub” shortcut. In contrast, those using older Sony LinkBuds will see the same shortcut readily available on the first screen.
While the layout of these menus may seem inconsistent, the removal option has been confirmed across a variety of devices, including Pixel Buds, Nothing earbuds, JBL speakers, and OnePlus Buds, regardless of the menu format. This enhancement was brought to light by an observant Reddit user over the weekend, and feedback from the community indicates that the update is being rolled out widely to users.
