Xbox has announced an exciting expansion of its collaboration with Ubisoft, introducing premium editions of beloved franchises such as Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, along with select add-on content for the Xbox PC app. This initiative allows gamers with access to both consoles and PCs to enjoy specific titles entirely free of charge through Ubisoft Connect, provided they own the digital Xbox console version of those games.
Details of the Partnership
The announcement was made on Tuesday, July 28, by Joe Skrebels, Editor in Chief of Xbox Wire. He highlighted that some of the most prominent titles from the Ubisoft catalog are now accessible on Xbox for PC users, including the much-anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws. However, the standout feature of this partnership is the seamless transition from console to PC.
As outlined in the announcement, “Players who own the digital Xbox console version of select games can now access the PC version through Ubisoft Connect at no additional cost.” Starting today, any purchase of the designated games will grant players both console and PC digital versions. It’s important to note that this offer does not extend in reverse; purchasing a PC game does not provide access to the console version for free.
