Developers Cold Iron Studios and Daybreak Game Company are set to expand the universe of their acclaimed title with the announcement of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2. This sequel to the 2021 three-player, third-person PvE shooter is currently in development for PC, available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a release anticipated this summer.
Exciting New Features
The most striking addition highlighted in the recently released trailer is the introduction of a fourth player, enhancing the cooperative gameplay experience. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. As part of IGN’s First editorial feature for May, fans can expect a wealth of exclusive content, including gameplay footage, hands-on impressions, and detailed insights into new classes and enemies, all to be unveiled over the coming weeks.
Among the notable enhancements, full cross-play will be supported, allowing players across different platforms to join forces. The sequel will introduce new types of Xenomorphs, alongside improved player classes. A standout feature is the Specialist class, which offers players the flexibility to customize their abilities by mixing and matching elements from various classes.
Additionally, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will debut with a dedicated Horde mode, featuring specially designed maps that challenge players with increasingly difficult waves of enemies, rewarding them with progressively better loot.
For those who have yet to experience the original Aliens: Fireteam Elite, a comprehensive review is available, along with a fun exploration of nine hidden Easter eggs from the game.
