Capcom has revealed that approximately half of its game sales are attributed to PC buyers, a significant insight shared during the Q&A session following the company’s FY 2025 Q3 financial reports. When questioned about the decision to enhance PC-specific features in Resident Evil Requiem, as well as its overarching strategy for the PC platform, Capcom expressed optimism about the future of PC sales.
Strategic Focus on PC Development
“As of the third quarter, PC sales account for approximately 50 percent of total unit sales, and we expect this ratio to continue increasing,” Capcom stated. The company emphasized its commitment to bolstering its PC development framework, leveraging the technical expertise gained from addressing the complexities and performance challenges encountered in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Capcom has dedicated considerable resources to resolving performance issues that have affected Monster Hunter Wilds on PC since its launch last year. The culmination of these efforts was marked by a February update, which introduced various enhancements aimed at reducing CPU and GPU processing loads. These improvements included the implementation of additional Levels of Detail (LOD) for 3D models and optimized processing for monster and endemic life spawn times.
Monitoring Market Conditions
In light of the global memory shortages that have led to soaring RAM prices, Capcom was asked about potential impacts on its business. The company reassured stakeholders that it is actively monitoring the situation for any medium- to long-term effects. However, it noted that, thus far, there has been no material impact on its operations. “At present, there has been no material impact,” Capcom confirmed, while reiterating its vigilance regarding future market conditions.
