Developer Pearl Abyss continues to impress with its unwavering commitment to enhancing the gaming experience in Crimson Desert. The latest updates, released as part of their weekly patch cycle, introduce a series of significant improvements that are sure to delight players. Following the removal of the focus dodge flight glitch last week, a modified version has made its return through a new skill, alongside a host of other enhancements designed to enrich gameplay.
Exciting Skill Additions
The recent patch notes reveal a treasure trove of updates, particularly in the realm of skill enhancements. Players can now unlock ‘Focused Aerial Roll’ for Kliff, a refined version of the previously overpowered flight glitch. This skill allows players to engage in aerial maneuvers by entering focus mid-air and executing a dodge to propel themselves forward. By tapping dodge at the right moments, players can extend their aerial journey, adding a thrilling dynamic to exploration.
Moreover, the characters Damiane and Oongka have received much-needed upgrades, making them more viable options for exploration and puzzle-solving. Both characters now possess several new skills, including Axiom Force and Nature’s Snare shield. Damiane’s Shield Toss and Oongka’s Scatter Shot abilities have been enhanced to interact with the environment similarly to Kliff’s Force Palm, opening up new avenues for gameplay.
Enhanced Gameplay Features
In a move towards greater accessibility, five new camera settings have been introduced, allowing players to customize their viewing experience. Adjustments can be made to camera range, vertical and horizontal offsets, and whether the camera auto-follows or anticipates movement. Additionally, lock-on mechanics during boss encounters have been improved, ensuring that players maintain their target lock at greater distances, particularly against agile foes.
The gameplay menu now includes ‘weapon display’ toggles, enabling players to control the visibility of their melee and ranged weapons. This feature is a promising start, with hopes for further enhancements to match the existing helmet options. Players can also adjust font sizes for clearer text and increase fast-forward speeds to 4x, which will now apply to standard dialogue scenes as well.
Quality of Life Improvements
Fast travel has been revamped, allowing players to teleport to an Abyss Nexus while mounted, falling, swimming, or climbing. Pearl Abyss has also made these Nexuses easier to locate, addressing a common frustration among players. Adjustments to Abyss puzzles now provide clearer indicators for using Force Palm on objects, and hints from the lantern and Blinding Flash skill have been made more apparent.
A notable camp upgrade has been introduced, enhancing a later-game camp location with smarter NPC placements and expanded farm and ranch areas. For players still in the early stages, there’s no need for concern. Basic banking services are now accessible even while in a ‘wanted’ state, although depositing gold bars or updating investment funds remains off-limits until players clear their names.
Additional improvements include a range of UI enhancements and graphics settings. Faction quest icons have been updated with new colors, the fragments list in the Visione has been better organized, and players can now process all items simultaneously within their inventory. Fixes to incorrect stat displays on equipment, persistent map markers, and visibility of looted treasure chests and cave entries further streamline the gameplay experience.
Crimson Desert patch 1.03.00 is now live on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The ongoing weekly updates have fostered a sense of anticipation within the community, as Pearl Abyss demonstrates a proactive approach to player feedback. With each patch, the game evolves, and one can only imagine the transformations that await as the year progresses.
