Corsair Gaming has made a notable prediction regarding the much-anticipated PC release of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). The company, known for its high-quality computer peripherals, forecasts that the game will make its debut on PC in early 2026, following its initial rollout on consoles in 2025. This insight follows a recent comment from Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, who hinted at a potential PC release, despite the absence of an official announcement for that platform.
What Corsair executive said about GTA 6’s PC launch
During a discussion surrounding the latest financial results, Ronald van Veen, Corsair Gaming’s Vice President of Finance, shared his thoughts on the eagerly awaited title. He stated, “Yeah, GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that, I think, later on in the year for console. My understanding now is it’s going to come out in the fall for console, and then early 2026 for PC.”
Historically, the Grand Theft Auto series has adhered to a pattern of launching on consoles first, with PC versions following thereafter. Thus, it is anticipated that GTA 6 will adhere to this tradition, making its way to PC players sometime after its debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in the upcoming fall.
In a related discussion earlier this week, Zelnick emphasized the growing importance of the PC gaming market and how the company is strategizing its approach to releasing titles across platforms. He remarked, “So with Civilization 7 it’s available on console and PC and Switch right away. With regard to others in our lineup, we don’t always go across all platforms simultaneously. Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms.”
He further noted, “We have seen PC become a much more and more important part of what used to be a console business, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that trend continue. Of course, there will be a new console generation [too].”
