One important aspect of this weekend’s quest is the emphasis on enjoyment. Attendees can participate all weekend long, with no cap on the number of capes available—though each individual can claim only one. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you embark on your journey, gather your emeralds, and secure the coveted Crafter Cape.
Before diving into the emerald collection, it’s essential to have a designated storage solution. The Inventory Ribbon, a charming accessory that attaches to your TwitchCon badge, features three slots for your Emerald Stickers, which you will earn throughout the event. You can collect your Inventory Ribbon at the Swag Bag kiosk, conveniently located near the badge and wristband pickup area. A Minecraft Brand Ambassador will be there to assist you upon your arrival. Remember, each attendee is entitled to just one ribbon, so keep it securely attached to your badge at all times.
To earn your cape, you must collect three Emerald Stickers, which can be obtained by engaging with various Minecraft experiences during the event.
1. Attend Minecraft sessions
Search for sessions labeled with “Minecraft Emerald” on the schedule or marked with emerald signage outside the venue. Upon entering a qualifying session, you will receive one Emerald Sticker. The sessions available are:
Saturday
- The Midoffs LIVE presented by Tubbo (Minecraft Arena)
- Skyblock Kingdoms SMP – Minecraft in the Sky! (NomNom Theatre)
- Crafting a Character (NomNom Theatre)
- The Symbiotic Relationship of Artists and Creators (NomNom Theatre)
- The Non-Competitive Competitive Format of Minecraft Events (NomNom Theatre)
- Minecraft LIVE (Twitch Rivals Arena)
Sunday
- Bannerfall SMP: A Clash Between Kingdoms (NomNom Theatre)
- Couriway’s 10,000th Speedrun Live (Minecraft Arena)
- Lifesteal SMP: Inside Minecraft’s Deadliest Server (Glitch Theatre)
- Gridlock: The Next Step in Minecraft Esports (Minecraft Arena)
- The Minecraft Gauntlet (Glitch Theatre)
2. Join Minecraft activities
Visit the Minecraft Arena to participate in various activities, including gameplay stations, creative challenges, and photo opportunities. Completing any of these activities will earn you a sticker. The available activities include:
- The Sulfur Slide
- Be the Chicken Jockey
- Game Over Photo Op
- Dungeons 2 Note Block Challenge
- Dungeons 1 Gameplay
- Chicken Farm Gameplay
The rules for participation are straightforward:
- Earn one sticker per session or activity.
- Mix and match your participation; for instance, you can combine three sessions with three activities or any other combination.
- Revisiting the same session or activity will not yield additional stickers, so diversify your choices to maximize your chances of earning the cape!
Once you have collected your stickers, place them in the slots on your Inventory Ribbon. After filling all three slots, you’re ready to claim your Crafter Cape!
To finalize your quest, head to the Cape Trader located in the Minecraft Village within the Arena. Here, you can redeem your cape and receive any necessary assistance. The process is as follows:
- A team member will verify your completed ribbon.
- Your wristband will be scanned to confirm your participation.
- You will receive a Cape Card, which contains a unique in-game code for your Minecraft cape.
With that, your TwitchCon quest is complete! Simply enter your code at minecraft.net/redeem by June 30, and your cape will be available in your Dressing Room.
Everyone gets a chance
Emerald Stickers can be earned on both Saturday and Sunday. While each attendee is limited to one cape, there is no cap on the total number of capes distributed. Take your time to enjoy the activities at your own pace; there’s no need to rush to complete everything in a single day. Plenty of opportunities await, so focus on having a great time! Just remember to keep your Inventory Ribbon safe while you navigate the various challenges and experiences.
Some final tips to remember
- Look for emerald signage or the “Minecraft Emerald” tag on the schedule to identify qualifying sessions and activities.
- Safeguard your ribbon, as you will need it to redeem your cape.
- If you have any questions or encounter issues, don’t hesitate to seek help at the Cape Trader.
What if I can’t attend TwitchCon?
For those unable to attend, there’s no need to worry. An alternate cape will be available for online earning! Be sure to tune in to Minecraft LIVE on May 30 at 11:30 AM EDT / 5:30 PM CEST to discover how to obtain the Builder Cape.
