Minecraft New Update 3.31/1.041 Released for Bedrock 26.1

In a timely response to the recent major patch that introduced experimental features to Minecraft, Mojang has rolled out Bedrock version 26.1 across all platforms. Console players will recognize this update as Minecraft update 3.31/1.041 (complete version 1.041.000), a minor patch aimed at addressing a specific issue.

While today’s changelog may appear brief, it is important to note that this is not the final fix for the updates introduced last week. Players can expect further adjustments in the near future.

Minecraft’s Update for February 19 Fixes Scaling Values

FIXES:

User Interface

  • Corrected scaling values on certain devices (MCPE-234792)

For those who haven’t logged in since last week, Bedrock version 26.0 brought a host of new experimental features along with enhancements to the overall user experience. Among the notable additions is a revamped version numbering system:

New Version Numbering System

  • Moving forward, versions will be numbered according to the year. Thus, any releases in 2026 will begin with ‘26’ for both Bedrock and Java Editions.
  • For a comprehensive overview of the changes, visit aka.ms/MinecraftVersionUpdate.

Accounts

  • Resolved an issue where player data would become disconnected from accounts for Xbox players in split-screen mode (MCPE-233088).

Accessibility

  • The new Gameplay subtitles (closed captions) will remain in Beta and Preview versions for a bit longer as the team continues to refine and address bugs.

Blocks

  • Bamboo Stalks now exhibit less pronounced popping from a distance, lacking transparency unless viewed on Simple graphics, similar to Sugar Cane and Cactus.
  • Adjusted the rotated Y-axis orientation of blocks held in third-person view to align with Java Edition (MCPE-231979).

Creator

  • Introduced command macro support:
    • A toggle has been added to the Creator Settings screen, enabling 10 new key mappings for keyboard/mouse controls, each with a text input for the corresponding command.
    • Commands can only be executed while in-game.
    • All re-mappable keys are designated as Alt plus the chosen key.
  • Implemented a guard to prevent mapping a command macro key to Alt, as it is already designated as the coordinates key.

Dressing Room and Character Creator

  • Fixed an issue where upgrading from UWP to GDK caused corrupt skin states.
  • Updated the Android Photo Picker to request media permissions more efficiently.
  • Classic skins purchased from the marketplace will now be accurately reflected in-game after exiting the marketplace and unpausing:
    • Loading cached appearances is functional while offline.
    • Prioritizes loading cached appearances over random skins.

For those interested in a deeper dive into the recent changes, the official patch notes from last week’s significant update offer a wealth of information.
