‘No one leaves’—one Arc Raiders player has devoted themselves to turning Stella Montis into an inescapable maze, revelling in the cries of stuck players: ‘I am the engineer of chaos!’

The latest addition to the Arc Raiders universe, the Stella Montis map, has quickly earned a reputation as a treacherous labyrinth. Players navigating its narrow corridors are likely to find themselves embroiled in skirmishes with both Arc and other raiders, all while racing against the clock to reach the extraction point. Among the players, one individual has taken it upon themselves to elevate the chaos to new heights.

The Architect of Mayhem

In a recent Reddit post, user luvast0 proudly declared, “I am the engineer of chaos.” This self-proclaimed architect dedicated a full 20 minutes in a fresh lobby to barricading every door he could find on Stella Montis. His experiment not only showcased the strength of the game’s barricade system but also revealed the psychological warfare that can ensue in such a confined space.

Barricades in Arc Raiders are formidable obstacles. Deployable barricades boast 500 health, making them a daunting challenge to dismantle, as they generate significant noise during the process. The door barricades, however, present an even greater dilemma; once deployed, they effectively seal off access, trapping players on one side or the other. With a staggering total of 65 door barricades and an additional 13 deployable barricades, luvast0 crafted an almost impenetrable maze.

To further complicate matters, he also employed three jolt charges and a deadline mine—the most powerful tool in the game—ensuring that his construction was not just a physical barrier but a strategic trap.

When asked about his motivations, luvast0 explained, “I wanted to see if Arc Raiders’ barricade system could be weaponized for pure psychological warfare, and oh my god, it can.” He recounted the frantic reactions of players who spawned late, trapped in his meticulously crafted maze, shouting in frustration as they searched for an escape. “Every time I heard footsteps sprinting to a blocked exit, followed by a desperate ‘Who’s locking these doors?!’ I knew I was fulfilling my true role in this game: The Chaos Engineer.”

However, the thrill of chaos is fleeting. With a timer counting down to the inevitable arrival of an Arc Orbiter, which spells doom for any remaining players, the pressure mounts. As pursuers closed in on him, luvast0 found himself cornered in a room with no exit. Faced with the choice of surrender or a dramatic exit, he opted for the latter.

In a final act of defiance, he threw a smoke grenade, barricaded the door, and set a deadline mine, resulting in a spectacular end for all involved. “No one leaves the maze,” he declared, leaving a lasting impression on the chaotic landscape of Stella Montis.
