Touhou Spell Carnival Game Gets PC Version in 2025

On Monday, Idea Factory International made an exciting announcement regarding the upcoming release of Touhou Spell Carnival, a collaboration between Compile Heart and Sting. This highly anticipated game will be available for PC via Steam in 2025, following its recent launch in North America on November 19 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.

In Europe, players can also look forward to the digital release on the same day, with the physical edition set to hit shelves on December 3. The game offers a Digital Deluxe edition that features a digital art book and soundtrack, while the Limited Edition delights fans with a collector’s box, figures of beloved characters Reimu and Marisa, a 56-page hardcover artbook, a 52-track soundtrack, a reversible cover sleeve, and an exclusive trading card.

Storyline Overview

The narrative unfolds in Gensokyo, a secluded realm where humans coexist with youkai. The tranquility is disrupted when Reimu Hakurei, the shrine maiden of Hakurei Shrine, discovers mysterious pillars rising across the landscape. These pillars herald the commencement of the Spell Carnival, a festival orchestrated by Yukari Yakumo, where participants must wager their Spell Cards in fierce battles.

Driven by curiosity and a sense of duty, Reimu Hakurei enters the fray to uncover Yukari Yakumo’s true motives behind this sudden festival. The game promises an engaging experience, complete with Japanese audio and text options available in English, French, and Spanish (Spain).

Initially launched in Japan on June 6, after a brief delay from April 18, Touhou Spell Carnival has generated considerable excitement among fans, setting the stage for its North American and European releases.
