A blockbuster like A Minecraft Movie isn’t truly complete without its share of action figures, particularly those depicting Jack Black’s Steve and Jason Momoa’s Garrett. The success of franchises such as Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the DC Universe has demonstrated that action figures can serve as powerful marketing tools for films. In the near future, fans can look forward to 6-inch plastic action figures of Florence Pugh’s Yelena Bolova and David Harbor’s Red Guardian, set to hit the shelves as part of Hasbro’s Marvel Legends line for the upcoming antihero film, Thunderbolts. Similarly, the excitement surrounding director James Gunn’s Superman reboot will likely bring figures of David Corenswet’s Man of Steel to eager collectors.
The immense marketability of a property as expansive as Minecraft has not gone unnoticed by Mattel. The toy company has been crafting toys based on the world’s most popular video game for years. While Mattel has previously produced block-style figures of Steve, Piglins, Skeletons, and various other characters from the Minecraft universe, it is now elevating its offerings by introducing action figures that represent the human forms of characters from A Minecraft Movie.
Among the new products available from Mattel are 4-inch scale action figures of Black and Momoa’s Steve and Garrett, along with Sebastian Hansen’s Henry. Steve is currently offered as a single-carded figure and in a combination pack that includes his dog, Dennis. Garrett and Henry, on the other hand, are exclusively available in a playset that features wing accessories for their escape from the Piglins, along with a Piglin Warrior. Steve’s accessories are thoughtfully designed, including a backpack, a leg of Overworld-style chicken, and, of course, a sword.
Additionally, the product line features other single-carded figures, including block figures of Steve’s dog Dennis, a skeleton warrior, and a creeper. Mattel has expanded its range to include several other action figures and playsets in 4-inch scale, available in combination packs as well.
The action figures and playsets are readily accessible at both brick-and-mortar and online retailers.
