Gmail users can now enhance their email experience with a new feature that allows for seamless integration of Google Calendar booking pages. With the introduction of a dedicated Calendar icon, sharing real-time appointment slots has never been easier, enabling users to book meetings directly within their Gmail interface.
This innovative integration aims to minimize the often tedious back-and-forth communication that typically accompanies scheduling. By allowing users to insert their Google Calendar appointment booking pages directly into email drafts, Google is streamlining the process and making it more efficient for everyone involved.
As detailed in a recent post by Google, users will find the Calendar icon conveniently located at the bottom of their email drafts. A simple click reveals a list of existing booking pages, along with an option to create a new one. Once selected, users can effortlessly insert the booking page into their email, making it easy to share their availability.
This feature is available to a wide range of users, including Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and those with personal Google accounts. However, it is worth noting that certain advanced features related to appointment scheduling are exclusive to paid subscriptions. These premium functionalities include options for viewing various types of appointments, setting up automatic email reminders, and more.
Rollout and new features
The rollout of this feature has already commenced for Rapid Release domains this week, with a scheduled release set to begin on July 28 for other users.
In addition to this new scheduling capability, Gmail has recently introduced several noteworthy features. Among them is the Gemini AI assistant, designed to summarize lengthy emails into concise, digestible formats. Earlier this year, Gmail also added the ability for users to react to emails using emojis, further enhancing the platform’s interactivity and user engagement.
