New Copilot+ PC Experiences
Introducing Microsoft 365 Text Action in Click to Do
We are excited to announce the rollout of a new text action in Click to Do. This feature allows users to seamlessly draft content with Copilot in Word. If inspiration strikes while you’re browsing or composing an email, simply press Win + Click on the recognized text and select the “Draft with Copilot in Word” option. This innovative action transforms fleeting ideas into comprehensive drafts, eliminating the frustration of staring at a blank page.
These text actions will be rolled out over the coming weeks, and a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription is required for the “Draft with Copilot in Word” feature. For further details on utilizing Click to Do, please refer to our dedicated resources.
FEEDBACK: We encourage you to share your thoughts in the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Desktop Environment > Click to Do.
New Features Gradually Rolling Out to the Beta Channel
Personalize Your Lock Screen Widgets
Following a successful rollout in the EEA, we are expanding the availability of lock screen widget personalization to all regions. Users can now add, remove, and rearrange widgets such as Weather, Watchlist, Sports, and Traffic on their lock screens. To customize your lock screen widgets, navigate to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
FEEDBACK: Please submit your feedback in the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Desktop Environment > Lock screen.
Multiple Dashboards in Widgets
As we enhance the widgets experience, we are introducing support for multiple dashboards. This allows users to organize their favorite widgets while staying updated with current events through a dedicated feed. The new navigation bar on the left facilitates easy switching between different dashboards, including My Feed. We invite you to explore this feature and share your thoughts via the feedback button located at the top of the board.
FEEDBACK: Please provide your feedback in the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Desktop Environment > Widgets.
Changes and Improvements Gradually Rolling Out to the Beta Channel
[General]
- To enhance your experience, we are testing the display of recommendations from the Microsoft Store app within the “Open with…” dialog. These recommendations will be marked with a Store icon next to the relevant apps.
[PC Migration]
- A new PC-to-PC migration experience is on the horizon. Users will soon see the landing and pairing page in the Windows Backup app, providing a glimpse of the upcoming feature. This will enable file and settings transfer from an old PC to a new one during the setup process, with support to be detailed in future updates.
[Settings]
- We have refreshed the dialogs for entering product keys, troubleshooting activation, and phone activation to align with the aesthetics of Windows 11.
Fixes Gradually Rolling Out to the Beta Channel
[Start Menu]
- Improvements have been made to address the issue where clicking on the profile picture did not open the Account Manager for some Insiders. If you continue to experience difficulties, please provide feedback.
[Task Manager]
- Resolved an issue where the new CPU Utility column incorrectly displayed the System Idle Process as 0.
- Fixed the CPU graphs in the Performance page, which were still utilizing outdated CPU utility calculations.
[Narrator]
- Addressed an issue where the Describe image feature of the Narrator was not functioning as intended.
[Voice Access]
- Fixed an issue affecting the support for more descriptive and flexible language on Copilot+ PCs.
Known Issues
[General]
- Post-PC reset under Settings > System > Recovery, the build version may incorrectly display as Build 26100 instead of Build 26120. This will not hinder your ability to receive future Beta Channel updates that will rectify this issue.
- The reset option under Settings > System > Recovery is currently non-functional in this build.
- [NEW] With Virtualization Based Security enabled, applications reliant on virtualization, such as VMware Workstation, may not operate unless the “Windows Hypervisor Platform” optional component is installed.
[Xbox Controllers]
- Some Insiders are encountering issues with Xbox Controllers via Bluetooth causing their PCs to bugcheck. To resolve this, open Device Manager, navigate to “View,” then “Devices by Driver,” and uninstall the driver named “oemXXX.inf (XboxGameControllerDriver.inf).”
[Click to Do (Preview)]
The following known issues will be addressed in future updates:
- Insiders using AMD or Intel™-powered Copilot+ PCs may experience delays when performing intelligent text actions in Click to Do after a new build or model update.
[Improved Windows Search]
- [REMINDER] For optimal performance of Windows Search on Copilot+ PCs, it is advisable to connect your device for the initial search indexing process. You can monitor your search indexing status under Settings > Privacy & security > Searching Windows.
[Taskbar & System Tray]
- [NEW] In certain instances, taskbar icons may appear smaller than expected, despite the “never” setting for smaller taskbar buttons.
[File Explorer]
Known issues for AI actions in File Explorer include:
- Narrator scan mode may not function correctly in the action result canvas window for the Summarize AI action when reading bulleted lists. A workaround is to use Caps + Right key for navigation.
- When configured with a right-to-left display language, the action result canvas may display text from left to right for AI actions.
[Widgets]
- Pinning in the new widgets board experience is not yet fully supported; pinning will revert you to the previous experience.
