Rumors surrounding a handheld device from Microsoft have circulated for months, fueled by the success of competitors like the Steam Deck. Other hardware manufacturers, including Lenovo and MSI, have also entered the handheld market with their own offerings. Speculation suggested that Microsoft’s device would integrate Asus’s ROG Ally with an Xbox user interface and branding.
In addition to the console announcement, it was confirmed that the much-anticipated follow-up to Hollow Knight, titled Silksong, will be available at the time of the ROG Xbox Ally’s release. While specific pricing and release dates were not disclosed during the showcase, industry insiders anticipate a price point around 0, with a launch expected during the holiday season later this year.
