Windows 11 Build 26220.7051 is currently being rolled out to testers participating in the Insider Program, introducing a suite of new features designed to enhance user experience. Among the most notable additions is the ‘Ask Copilot’ feature, which now resides conveniently on the taskbar.
Previously, users could access Copilot through a dedicated app or web browser, but this latest update allows for a more integrated interaction with the AI directly from the taskbar. It is anticipated that this new taskbar-based search experience will eventually replace the existing Windows Search UI, streamlining the way users find information.
At present, ‘Ask Copilot’ remains an optional feature, requiring users to opt in to utilize its capabilities. This tool enables users to search the internet, local files, and AI resources using both text and voice commands. Microsoft emphasizes that users maintain control throughout the process, with results updating in real-time as they type, thus simplifying the search experience.
To activate this feature, users can navigate to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Ask Copilot.
New Xbox experience rolls out to everyone
In addition to the updates for Windows 11, Microsoft has unveiled a new full-screen experience (FSE) for Xbox, now available to all handheld device owners. This feature, which was previously exclusive to the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, promises to enhance gaming performance by allowing users to immerse themselves fully in their gaming activities.
To enable the full-screen experience, users should go to Settings > Gaming > Full screen experience and select Xbox as their home app. Once activated, FSE can be accessed through Task View and Game Bar, or users can configure their handheld devices to enter full-screen mode upon startup.
Shared audio support for Bluetooth
Another exciting development is the introduction of “shared audio,” leveraging Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast technology. This new feature allows Windows to transmit audio streams to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, enhancing the listening experience for users who wish to share audio content.
Users can easily activate the “Shared audio (preview)” shortcut in quick settings to begin sharing audio with others.
Furthermore, ARM PCs are set to benefit from improved performance following this update. Microsoft has expanded support for more 64-bit x86 (x64) applications under emulation, incorporating additional CPU features that contribute to enhanced performance.
These features are expected to roll out to all users in the coming weeks. For those eager to explore them sooner, joining the Beta or Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program is the way to go.
