Cherry Picker Seeks Crowdfunding for D1AL-ogue+ Sequel

Korean developer Cherry Picker recently shared an update on the progress of their upcoming cyberpunk puzzle game sequel, D1AL-ogue+. The studio plans to address soundtrack and localization issues that were present in the original game. However, due to financial constraints, Cherry Picker is now turning to crowdfunding to support the development of the project.

D1AL-ogue was released as a free indie game on Steam earlier this year, receiving critical acclaim for its unique gameplay set in the futuristic city of Chroma City. Players take on the role of Chris, a repair clinic manager tasked with fixing Electronic Vital Entities (E.V.E) using a diagnostic console through challenging three-match puzzles.

Despite its success, the game faced criticism for localization issues in the Japanese version, prompting Cherry Picker to seek help for translation improvements. Additionally, concerns over the original AI-generated soundtrack led to a switch to open-source music for the full release.

While some suggested alternative funding methods for the sequel, Cherry Picker’s contractual obligations from the original game’s development program prevent them from monetizing D1AL-ogue. As a result, the studio is exploring crowdfunding options to bring D1AL-ogue+ to life.

With Kickstarter unavailable in South Korea, Cherry Picker is actively seeking support and alternatives to fund their project. Fans and supporters can stay updated on the studio’s progress through their official X account.
