You might be familiar with Twitch, a vibrant corner of the internet where gamers showcase their skills and personalities while playing a variety of video games, including the beloved Minecraft. This platform not only allows viewers to enjoy the action but also offers aspiring streamers the chance to gain fame and potentially monetize their content through engaging gameplay or charming commentary. With a growing audience, streamers can earn real-world income, which they might choose to reinvest in the Minecraft Marketplace or other ventures.
We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of a special initiative: the Tiny Takeover campaign! This event promises to engage both streamers and viewers alike, creating a unique experience for all participants.
First! An important message
The Twitch Tiny Takeover is a collaboration between Twitch and Mojang Studios. Please note that Mojang has not sponsored or endorsed any creators participating in this campaign.
When is this happening?
The campaign is set to kick off on April 6th at 9:00 AM PT. Streamer slots are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to be prepared when the campaign goes live!
I am a viewer! What’s the deal?
If you prefer watching to streaming, we have exciting news for you. Simply tune in for five minutes to any Minecraft stream, and you’ll earn a collection of delightful hats: the Hatchling Hat, Baby Turtle Hat, and Baby Rabbit Hat! Is that too many hats? Absolutely not! It’s the ideal number of hats to express your style.
Additionally, viewers can snag a Baby Chick Badge by purchasing or gifting a subscription (note that Prime Subs are excluded from this offer). Your rewards will be sent to your Twitch inbox and can be redeemed on Minecraft.net. Be sure to check the redemption terms for details.
I’m a streamer! Can I get a hat? Or maybe some MONEY?
Streamers can opt into the campaign via their Streamer Dashboard. By streaming at least one hour of Minecraft gameplay in the designated category, you’ll become eligible to earn up to ONE THOUSAND dollars. Participating streams will feature a special skin overlay, and selected streamers may even find themselves showcased on the Twitch front page shelf, adding an extra layer of excitement and potential earnings.
This opportunity is typically reserved for Twitch Partners, but we’re opening the doors to a broader range of creators. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just embarking on your streaming journey, you’re welcome to join in.
To qualify for streamer rewards, you must already be part of the Twitch Affiliate Program. For more information on that, check here. Earnings will be reflected in the Sponsorship Portal revenue dashboard within a week, pending moderation.
And yes, streamers can also collect hats! Just watch another stream for at least five minutes to join in on the fun. We may have mentioned the hats before, but it’s worth reiterating given their undeniable appeal.
This community event is shaping up to be a delightful celebration filled with Minecraft-themed activities, along with the enticing prospects of hats and cash rewards. Mark your calendars for April 6th and get ready to dive into the excitement on Twitch!
