Newzoo’s latest market analysis reveals a dynamic shift in the gaming landscape across several key regions, including the US, UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, and France. The data highlights a surge of new titles in both revenue rankings and monthly active users (MAU), indicating a vibrant and evolving market.
Revenue – All Platforms
June saw an influx of new entries in the revenue rankings, with notable performances from several titles:
- Dune: Awakening made a strong debut at 5th place, while Rematch secured the 9th position. Other newcomers include Death Stranding 2: On the Beach at 15th, SCUM at 17th, and Deltarune rounding out the list at 20th.
- In a celebratory update for its 5th anniversary, Valorant climbed to 7th place in the rankings.
- A collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Five Nights at Freddy’s resulted in the highest monthly revenue growth for the project since April 2020.
- Among the new revenue entrants, two are independent IPs: Rematch and SCUM. The remaining titles are either based on established IPs, sequels, or spin-offs, showcasing the industry’s reliance on familiar franchises.
Revenue – By Platform
The platform-specific revenue rankings also tell an intriguing story:
- On PlayStation, MindsEye entered the top sales ranking at 18th, generating initial revenue despite a modest 2.3 out of 5 rating on the PS Store, suggesting potential challenges ahead.
- Lies of P experienced a significant revenue boost, landing at 20th, attributed to the release of its prequel, Lies of P: Overture.
- On PC, seven newcomers emerged, including previously mentioned titles like Dune: Awakening (#1), SCUM (#7), Rematch (#8), and Deltarune (#13). Additional debuts included PEAK (10th), Stellar Blade (14th), and Date Everything! (17th).
- Nintendo platforms saw a resurgence of new titles, with Mario Kart World taking 2nd place, followed by Deltarune (9th), Cyberpunk 2077 (14th), and Date Everything! (15th), reflecting the impact of the Nintendo Switch 2 projects.
MAU – All Platforms
The MAU rankings also featured several fresh faces:
- The top 20 by MAU included late-May releases such as Elden Ring Nightreign and Splitgate 2. Notably, Rematch appeared, although Newzoo seems to be counting its closed beta audience.
- On PC, PEAK emerged as a leading title by MAU, claiming the 5th spot and surpassing other popular live-service games like Marvel Rivals, Valorant, and Overwatch.
- For the Nintendo Switch 2, three new titles made their mark: Mario Kart World (1st place), Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour (8th), and Deltarune (20th).
