On June 9, Anthropic unveiled its latest innovation, the Claude Fable 5 “Mythos-class” model, which has quickly captured the attention of the tech community. Users have begun to explore its capabilities, particularly in game development, where it has demonstrated an impressive ability to clone popular games. Within a remarkably short timeframe, the model can recreate iconic titles such as Minecraft and Pokémon, showcasing its potential in the gaming sector.
Minecraft and Pokémon cloned using Claude Fable 5
AI enthusiast and reporter @ChrissGPT has been experimenting with Claude Fable 5 since its launch. With straightforward commands like “Make a Minecraft clone” and “Make a Pokémon clone,” the AI produced remarkable results in just 20 minutes and one hour, respectively. These instances were achieved in a single attempt, highlighting the model’s efficiency.

Claude 5 fable (extra high)“Make a Pokémon clone”1 hour of reasoning, 8k lines – 1 shotThis is incredible! All 151 Gen-1 Pokémon real sprites (front/back), party icons, and actual cries Real base stats, types, level-up movesets, evolutions, catch rates, and growth curves!… pic.twitter.com/EE9RpXLkB1— Chris (@ChrissGPT) June 9, 2026
While these examples leverage existing data—such as the sprites from the original 151 Pokémon—they still illustrate the impressive capabilities of AI in generating content. The ability of artificial intelligence to apply learned knowledge to new scenarios, known as AI inference, is a key focus for many firms in the industry.
Another user, @ziwenxu_, utilized their AI tokens to recreate Minecraft, achieving this feat in a single attempt as well. The project, developed in JavaScript, consumed only 10% of their five-hour usage window. Subsequent iterations allowed for the introduction of new features absent from the original game, including a rewind function and a gravity gun, both of which add an exciting twist to gameplay.
As expected, Claude Fable 5 and its counterpart, Mythos 5, represent Anthropic’s most premium offerings to date. The pricing model follows a pay-as-you-go structure, with output tokens priced at per million tokens—more than double the cost of the previous Claude Opus models, excluding the now-deprecated Opus 4.1.
In its announcement, Anthropic elaborated on the capabilities of these new models. Benchmarks indicate that both Mythos 5 and Fable 5 excel across various domains, including agentic coding and cybersecurity, areas where the Claude model has consistently demonstrated strength. The accompanying benchmarks provide a detailed look at their performance metrics.
