Psychological Adventure Game Sublustrum Announced for Consoles and PC

Publisher Brickworks Games, in collaboration with developer Phantomery Interactive, has unveiled their upcoming psychological adventure game, Sublustrum, set to launch in fall 2026 for consoles and PC via Steam. Delving deeper into the game, Sublustrum invites players to experience a narrative that intertwines memory, sound, and dreams. The story follows a writer on a quest to uncover the mysterious disappearance of his brother, a scientist. As he investigates a peculiar device left behind, he finds himself slipping into a liminal space that blurs the lines between reality and dreams, transforming his search into a surreal journey through his subconscious.

Into the Labyrinths of Consciousness

Players will navigate a fully explorable 3D environment that evokes a unique blend of Victorian melancholy, industrial aesthetics, and early-20th-century retrofuturism. In this world, the division between science and mysticism fades, allowing mechanisms to serve as vessels for the human soul. The visual style of Sublustrum captures the essence of vintage cinema, reminiscent of aged film and the ephemeral nature of dreams.

Sound as a Conduit

In Sublustrum, sound transcends mere ambiance; it becomes an integral part of the narrative structure. Players will encounter audio-driven puzzles and motifs that guide their exploration, with a dark ambient score that plays a pivotal role in shaping the story and the game’s overall atmosphere.

Feelings and Logic

The game promises a mix of new and reimagined puzzles that challenge players to engage in associative and lateral thinking. By connecting memories and inner archetypes through sound, gravity shifts, and temporal distortions, players will unravel the enigmas of this Flickering World.
