Red Dead Redemption Coming to Multiple Platforms
Rockstar Games has officially announced that Red Dead Redemption will be making its way to a variety of platforms, including PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Netflix, iOS, and Android.
After receiving an M rating from the ESRB on current-gen consoles, the studio confirmed that the 2010 action-adventure title, along with its popular zombie expansion Undead Nightmare, will be re-released on December 2, 2025.
This launch marks the broadest platform rollout in the series’ history, bringing the iconic Western tale of John Marston to cutting-edge consoles and mobile devices alike.
The new versions will include the full single-player campaigns for both Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare, along with all bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition.
Modern enhancements have been confirmed, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S receiving 4K resolution, HDR, and smooth 60fps support. Nintendo Switch 2 will benefit from DLSS upscaling, high-resolution output, HDR, and even mouse input support.
Mobile players can look forward to touch-friendly controls on compatible iOS and Android devices, while Netflix subscribers will be able to download and play the game at no extra cost through the Netflix Games catalogue.
Existing owners on PS4, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox One will receive free digital upgrades via digital backward compatibility, with save data being transferable to ensure a seamless transition.
Developed in partnership with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, the new versions of Red Dead Redemption will also be available in the GTA+ Games Library and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on launch day.
With the delay of Grand Theft Auto VI to November 2026, this multi-platform revival of Red Dead Redemption not only fills Rockstar’s release schedule but also introduces the classic title to a whole new audience across various devices.
