Red Dead Redemption Remaster To Cost $49.99 on PC

Rockstar Games recently unveiled that the highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption Remaster will make its debut on PC on October 29. While the announcement provided details regarding system requirements, it left the gaming community in suspense regarding the game’s price. The remaster will be available across multiple platforms, including the Epic Games Store, Steam, and the Rockstar Store, giving players the flexibility to choose their preferred launcher.

In an intriguing turn of events, the Epic Games Store appears to have inadvertently leaked the game’s price, which is set at .99, as highlighted in a screenshot shared by John Papadopoulos from DSOGaming. This pricing stands in stark contrast to the console version, where Red Dead Redemption is currently available for .99, barring any promotional sales. The higher price point for the PC version may be justified, considering it will feature enhancements tailored for the platform, including native 4K resolution and refresh rates of up to 144Hz on compatible hardware.

Enhanced Features for PC Gamers

The enhancements don’t stop there. The remaster’s transition to PC has been executed in collaboration with Double Eleven, ensuring support for Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide monitors, as well as comprehensive keyboard and mouse functionality. This caters to gamers who prefer a more tactile experience over traditional controller use.

Moreover, the game will incorporate cutting-edge technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 for upscaling, alongside NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation. Players will have the ability to customize various graphic settings, including draw distances and shadow quality, enhancing the overall visual experience. Fortunately, the system requirements are quite accessible, with an RTX 2070 recommended for optimal performance, while even older graphics cards will allow for gameplay.

As for compatibility with the Steam Deck, uncertainty looms. While Red Dead Redemption 2 is playable on the device, it is unclear if the remaster will follow suit. Notably, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of the most popular titles among Steam Deck users. However, recent changes have rendered Grand Theft Auto V unsupported on the handheld, limiting players to story mode only due to new anti-cheat features. In contrast, Red Dead Redemption is primarily story-driven and will include the zombie-horror expansion, Undead Nightmare, enabling players to join forces against a relentless zombie horde.
