April 26, 2025

Hello Windows Insiders, today marks the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5570 (KB5055632) to the Dev Channel. This update introduces a variety of new features, improvements, and fixes that are being rolled out gradually to Insiders who have opted in for the latest updates through their settings.

New features gradually being rolled out to the Dev Channel with toggle on*

New profanity filter setting for voice typing

In response to valuable customer feedback, we are pleased to announce a new setting for voice typing that allows users to manage the profanity filter. When enabled, the filter will continue to mask profane words with asterisks, while disabling it will allow such words to be typed out as they are. To adjust this setting, simply open voice typing (Win + H), select the settings icon, and toggle the profanity filter as desired.

[Click to Do (Preview)]

Click to Do is now available in preview for Windows Insiders on Windows 11, version 24H2 in the Dev and Beta Channels on Copilot+ PCs.

  • For devices that support pen and inking, users can configure the shortcut button on their pen to launch Click to Do with a single-click, double-click, or press-and-hold action. This can be set up via Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Pen & Windows Ink.

  • Additionally, Click to Do can be added to the pen menu, allowing it to be one of the four apps that can be launched directly from the pen. If all four slots are filled, users may need to replace an existing app with Click to Do through the pen menu settings.

[Improved Windows Search]

Improved Windows Search is also available in preview for Windows Insiders on Windows 11, version 24H2 in the Dev and Beta Channels on Copilot+ PCs.

  • For users signed into OneDrive with a work or school account (Entra ID), search results will now only display matches for keywords found within the text of cloud files, excluding photos.

[Taskbar & System Tray]

  • We are enhancing the Accessibility flyout in quick settings by organizing assistive technologies into categories—vision, hearing, motor, and mobility—making it easier for users to identify the right accessibility feature for their needs.

Fixes gradually being rolled out to the Dev Channel with toggle on*

[General]

  • Addressed an issue that caused certain apps to appear blank following the installation of the latest flights.

[Click to Do (Preview)]

The following fixes are now rolling out for Click to Do on Copilot+ PCs:

  • Resolved an issue where images used in Click to Do actions were stuck in the temporary folder on the PC.

[Login and Lock]

  • Fixed a problem that prevented Windows Hello facial recognition from functioning for some Insiders after recent flights.

[Input]

  • Corrected an issue where using the Symbols section of the touch keyboard could inadvertently insert characters into password fields.
  • Fixed a problem that blocked input when toggling between Japanese touch keyboard layouts.

[Settings]

  • Addressed an issue where hovering over the cards at the top of System > About did not display the correct corner radius.

[Other]

  • Resolved an issue that prevented Quick Assist from functioning for non-administrator users, resulting in error 1002.
  • Fixed an underlying issue that caused certain apps to fail to open with an error message regarding a required virtual machine component.
  • Addressed a problem that led to certain USB devices becoming disconnected after sleep until the PC was rebooted.

Fixes for everyone in the Dev Channel

[General]

  • We have rectified the issue that caused the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to malfunction, which also affected the “Fix problems using Windows Update” option under Settings > Recovery. Should you encounter any further issues, please provide feedback through the Feedback Hub.

Known issues

[General]

  • [IMPORTANT] Upon joining the Dev Channel on Windows 11, version 24H2, users will initially receive Build 26200.5518. After this update, the most recent version will be offered. This two-step process to access the latest flight is temporary.
  • Post-PC reset under Settings > System > Recovery, your build version may inaccurately display as Build 26100 instead of Build 26200. This will not hinder your ability to receive future Beta Channel updates that will resolve this discrepancy.
  • Windows Sandbox may fail to launch, presenting a 0x800705b4 error. If encountered, users can uninstall and reinstall Sandbox through the “Turn Windows features on or off” option.
  • [NEW] We are currently investigating an issue where core Windows surfaces, such as File Explorer and the Start menu, are unable to load in safe mode following the previous flight.

[Xbox Controllers]

  • [NEW] Some Insiders are experiencing a bugcheck when using their Xbox Controller via Bluetooth. To resolve this, open Device Manager, navigate to “View” and select “Devices by Driver.” Locate the driver named “oemXXX.inf (XboxGameControllerDriver.inf)” and uninstall it.

[Recall (Preview)]

  • [REMINDER] Users have full control and can remove Recall anytime through “Turn Windows features on or off.” This action will delete entry points and binaries, though temporary copies may persist for serviceability.
  • [REMINDER] Ensure your Microsoft 365 apps are updated to the latest version for seamless access to specific documents.

[Click to Do (Preview)]

  • [REMINDER] Intelligent text actions are now moderated locally to ensure safety and have replaced the previous cloud endpoint. These actions are also available in Click to Do within Recall.
  • [REMINDER] If actions on image entities are missing, please verify that you have the latest updates for the Photos and Paint apps from the Microsoft Store.

[Improved Windows Search]

  • [REMINDER] For optimal performance of improved Windows Search on Copilot+ PCs, it is advisable to keep your device plugged in during the initial search indexing. You can monitor the indexing status under Settings > Privacy & security > Searching Windows.

[Start menu]

  • [NEW] We are looking into reports that clicking on the profile picture does not open the Account Manager for some Insiders after the last flight.

[Task Manager]

  • Following the addition of the new CPU Utility column, users may notice that the System Idle Process consistently displays as 0.
  • The CPU graphs on the Performance page continue to utilize the previous CPU utility calculations.

Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel

  • Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel receive updates based on Windows 11, version 24H2 through an enablement package (Build 26200.xxxx).
  • Updates delivered to the Dev Channel are structured to provide a preview of enhancements to servicing technology on Windows 11, version 24H2. For further details, visit this link.
  • Many features in the Dev Channel are rolled out using Control Feature Rollout technology, starting with a select group of Insiders and gradually expanding based on feedback.
  • Insiders wishing to be among the first to receive features gradually rolled out to you can enable the toggle for the latest updates via Settings > Windows Update*. Over time, feature rollouts will increase for those with the toggle on. If the toggle is off, new features will be introduced to your PC over time as they become ready.
  • Features and experiences included in these builds may not be released widely, as we explore various concepts and gather feedback. Features may evolve, be removed, or replaced before they are finalized for broader release. Some may appear in future Windows releases when they’re ready.
  • Some features currently in development may not be fully localized, with localization occurring over time as features are finalized. Users are encouraged to report any localization issues via the Feedback Hub.
  • It is important to note that some accessibility features may not function with features like Recall and Click to Do while in preview with Windows Insiders.
  • As the Dev and Beta Channels represent parallel development paths, there may be instances where features and experiences debut in the Beta Channel first.
  • For a comprehensive overview of which build is in which Insider channel, please refer to Flight Hub.

Thank you for your continued participation and feedback.
