New Copilot+ PC Experiences
Introducing the New Agent in Settings for AMD and Intel®-Powered Copilot+ PCs
The latest update includes a new agent experience in Settings specifically designed for AMD and Intel®-powered Copilot+ PCs. This feature aims to alleviate one of the most common challenges users face: locating and modifying settings on their devices. By simply describing your issue—such as “how to control my PC by voice” or “my mouse pointer is too small”—the agent will provide tailored recommendations to help you resolve the problem. Utilizing AI, this agent can understand your intent and, with your permission, automate tasks on your behalf. Please note that this feature is currently available only if your primary display language is set to English.
FEEDBACK: We encourage you to share your thoughts in the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Settings > All other settings.
Changes and Improvements Gradually Being Rolled Out to the Dev Channel
[General]
- Some Windows Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels will notice a refreshed SCOOBE screen (Second Chance Out of Box Experience) designed for reviewing recommended settings on their PCs. This redesigned interface aims to be more intuitive, allowing users to select recommended settings without navigating through multiple screens. We welcome your feedback on this new experience via the Feedback Hub.
[Click to Do (Preview)]
The following enhancements are being introduced for Click to Do on Copilot+ PCs:
- A new tutorial is being rolled out for Click to Do. Upon launching Click to Do for the first time, users will be guided through an interactive tutorial that demonstrates how to complete tasks more efficiently. The tutorial will cover actions on both text and images, enabling users to quickly summarize large blocks of text or remove backgrounds from images. Users can revisit the tutorial anytime by selecting …, then Start tutorial.
[Taskbar & System Tray]
- We are optimizing the speed at which Windows applies enterprise pins to the taskbar, initiated by IT admins. This change reduces the time between the application of the pinning policy and its visibility to users, now limited to approximately 8 hours, thereby eliminating the need for an explorer restart.
[Search on the Taskbar]
- A new grid view is being introduced in the left pane of the search results within the Windows Search box on the taskbar, enhancing the speed and accuracy with which users can identify desired images.
[Lock Screen]
- Updates have been made to the user interface for configuring widgets on the lock screen, accessible under Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
[Notification Center]
- In response to user feedback, the functionality of Notification Center has been extended to secondary monitors, allowing users to view their calendar and a larger clock with seconds on any monitor. Notification Center can now be accessed on any monitor by clicking the date and time in the system tray.
[Task Manager]
- After resolving previous issues, we are reintroducing a change in how Task Manager calculates CPU utilization across the Processes, Performance, and Users pages. This update aligns CPU workload displays with industry standards and third-party tools. For backward compatibility, a new optional column called CPU Utility is now available (hidden by default) on the Details tab, showing the previous CPU value used on the Processes page.
Fixes Gradually Being Rolled Out to the Dev Channel
[Taskbar]
- Resolved an issue where the Task View icon in the taskbar could become unexpectedly invisible after being toggled off and back on in Settings.
- Fixed a race condition that could prevent the Widgets icon from displaying in the taskbar, despite being enabled in Settings.
[Login and Lock]
- Addressed an issue that caused lock screen widget text to be unreadable due to a white font on a light background.
- Worked on resolving an underlying issue that could slow down taskbar loading when unlocking the PC after sleep, which may have also affected the rendering of the password field and other login screen elements. Users experiencing ongoing issues are encouraged to report them in the Feedback Hub under Install and Update > Logon hangs.
[File Explorer]
- Fixed an issue where attempting to unblock a file in Properties would still show it as blocked upon reopening Properties.
[Start Menu]
- Resolved touch navigation issues in the new Start menu, particularly regarding the swipe-up gesture.
[Input]
- Fixed issues affecting the Microsoft Changjie Input method and phonetic keyboards, including the Hindi and Marathi Phonetic Input keyboards.
[Administrator Protection]
- Addressed an underlying issue preventing the Xbox app from launching when administrator protection was enabled, which may have also affected other applications, resulting in error codes 0xC0000142 or 0xC0000045.
[Settings]
- Fixed an issue in Settings > System > Storage > Disks and Volumes where a link for BitLocker drive encryption appeared even when unsupported, leading to an error upon clicking.
[Other]
- Resolved multiple error pop-ups encountered by Insiders when opening Group Policy Editor.
- Fixed an underlying issue causing a small number of Insiders to experience a bugcheck with the error DRIVERIRQLNOTLESSOR_EQUAL in recent builds.
- Addressed an issue impacting installers for certain apps on ARM64 PCs, which could lead to prolonged stalls during installation.
Fixes for Everyone in the Dev Channel
[Graphics]
- Resolved an issue where external graphics cards connected via Thunderbolt were not discoverable in certain scenarios.
Known Issues
[General]
- Some Windows Insiders may encounter a rollback while attempting to install this update, indicated by a 0x80070005 error in Windows Update. We are actively working on a resolution for those affected. If you encounter this issue, using Settings > System > Recovery > “Fix issues using Windows update” may provide a solution.
[Live Captions]
- Live captions may experience crashes when attempting to utilize live translation on a Copilot+ PC.
[Xbox Controllers]
- Some Insiders are facing issues with their Xbox Controller via Bluetooth, leading to bugchecks. To resolve this, open Device Manager, navigate to “View” and select “Devices by Driver.” Locate the driver named “oemXXX.inf (XboxGameControllerDriver.inf)” and uninstall it.
[Click to Do (Preview)]
The following known issues will be addressed in future updates:
- Windows Insiders on AMD or Intel®-powered Copilot+ PCs may experience delays on their first attempt to perform intelligent text actions in Click to Do following a new build or model update.
Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel
- Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel receive updates based on Windows 11, version 25H2 via an enablement package (Build 26200.xxxx). For further details on Windows 11, version 25H2, please refer to this blog post.
- Many features in the Dev Channel are rolled out using Control Feature Rollout technology, starting with a subset of Insiders and gradually expanding as we monitor feedback.
- For those eager to receive features as they are gradually rolled out, ensure the toggle is set to ON via Settings > Windows Update. Over time, we will increase feature rollouts for those with the toggle enabled. If the toggle is off, new features will be released to your PC over time once they are ready.
- Features and experiences included in these builds may not be released, as we explore different concepts and gather feedback. Features may evolve, be removed, or replaced without being released beyond Windows Insiders. Some features may appear in future Windows releases when they are fully developed.
- Some actively developed features previewed with Windows Insiders may not be fully localized, with localization occurring over time as features are finalized. Please report any localization issues you encounter via the Feedback Hub.
- Be aware that certain accessibility features may not function correctly with features like Recall and Click to Do while in preview with Windows Insiders.
- Due to parallel development paths, features and experiences may appear in the Beta Channel before the Dev Channel.
- For a detailed overview of which build is in each Insider channel, visit Flight Hub.
Thank you for your continued support,
