One of the notable features of Helldivers 2 has been the introduction of various new tools and equipment, many of which are unfortunately locked behind Warbonds. This has led to a sense of frustration among players who seek to enhance their gameplay experience through regular play. However, Arrowhead Game Studios deserves recognition for their decision to allow players to unlock the M-103 Supply FRV using requisition slips alone, a refreshing change that will be available to all Helldivers starting in October.
Unlocking New Capabilities
The Supply FRV stands out as one of three variants of the offroad truck in Helldivers 2. The standard FRV is equipped with a mounted machine gun, while the Incinerator FRV trades that for a flamethrower. What sets the Supply FRV apart is its dual functionality, featuring both an automated turret and a supply rack capable of providing eight full restocks of ammunition and equipment for Helldivers.
Initially, the Supply FRV was offered as a reward for players who participated in the “Census Thunder” campaign in June, where they faced waves of Illuminate ‘Voteless’ enemies emerging from voids across the galaxy. Now, Arrowhead has chosen to extend access to this vehicle to all players, albeit with a delay. In a recent Steam post, Arrowhead acknowledged the contributions of those who earned the FRV in June, stating that their efforts have enabled their fellow players to access this valuable equipment in October. They aptly noted, “a rising tide of firepower lifts all divers.”
This rollout represents the first stratagem reward stemming from Arrowhead’s new galactic campaign system, which was introduced to replace the previous objective-based system in June. This change aims to enhance player engagement by providing a more inclusive approach to collective objectives within the game. The galactic campaigns are part of a broader overhaul that Arrowhead committed to earlier this year, responding to player feedback regarding the live-service shooter experience.
As players anticipate the arrival of the Supply FRV, excitement is also building for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 themed Warbond, set to be revealed on July 30. This crossover has piqued interest among fans, marking one of the few video game collaborations that has garnered significant attention.
