McDonald’s is celebrating the Minecraft movie’s release with new Happy Meals, toys, and even a special sauce

The long-awaited A Minecraft Movie is on the verge of becoming a reality, transforming years of speculation into an imminent global release. With just weeks to go until its debut on April 4, 2025, Mojang Studios and Xbox Game Studios are intensifying their promotional efforts through a series of in-game collaborations and partnerships.

Happy Meals and More

In a delightful twist, McDonald’s will launch A Minecraft Movie Happy Meals in over 100 markets starting on April 1, 2025. This is no April Fool’s Day prank; fans can expect to find 12 collectible toys within these meals. The offerings include:

  • Six cubes designed after iconic in-game blocks, such as diamond and pink wool, each containing characters and stickers from the movie.
  • Six toys representing beloved Minecraft mobs, including the Bee, Creeper, and Wolf.

Additionally, each Happy Meal will come with one of six trading cards featuring an in-game code that unlocks a character skin in Minecraft. For the most dedicated fans, there’s an opportunity to connect all the toys in an exclusive digital game at HappyMeal.com, allowing players to embark on their own adventure inspired by the film.

On the same day, McDonald’s will also introduce a new “Nether Flame” dipping sauce, adding a spicy twist to the culinary experience, though the exact flavor profile remains a mystery until its release.

Is There Something for the Adults, Too?

Indeed, adults have not been overlooked. McDonald’s will offer an A Minecraft Movie Meal tailored for grown-ups, featuring a choice between a Big Mac or McNuggets, accompanied by a side and a drink. Each meal will also include one of six new collectible toys designed for adult fans. Depending on the region, patrons may also enjoy an Apple Cake McFlurry and the new Nether Flame dipping sauce. This meal will be available globally on April 1, with some regions, like the United Kingdom, enjoying early access starting on March 26, 2025.
